Fall/Winter Deer Mix
A blend of grain rye, wheat, Austrian winter peas, purple top turnip, dwarf essex rape. Seed in the Fall/Winter Mix are chosen especially to offer deer and buck the energy rich grains and vegetation they need to flourish during the hunting season and following winter months.
This mixture is good for early fall, late fall, and early spring growth. Plant at the first of August to allow seed time to establish before the first frost. The fall mix is a blend of hardy winter annuals that will attract and hold deer in your food plots all winter.
Plant at a rate of 50 lb. per acre. This can be done by raking or using a rotor-tiller, broadcasting the seed, then it in to cover the seed (approx.. 1/4” deep), making sure not to bury seed too deep. If buried too deep ti may slow down or prevent the germination process. Fertilize with 15-30-15 at the rate of 250 lb. per acre.
